The Grain Store
Case Studies - The Grain Store
Grain Store is a joint venture between The Zetter Group and international starred chef Bruno Loubet. All establishments - The Zetter Hotel including Bistrot Bruno Loubet, The Zetter Townhouse and Grain Store - rely upon specialist hospitality EPoS from TISSL.
Explains Grain Store’s General Manager, Philippe L’Hermitte: “I’d used TISSL elsewhere and I pushed for us to use it here. It’s straightforward, both for front-of-house and in the back-office. Compared with other products, TISSL reporting is also far more complete.” The system’s flexibility was appealing too.
Grain Store’s interiors are designed around the idea of the exploded kitchen, a flexible space that blurs the lines between kitchen and dining room. The 80-seat outside terrace on Granary Square is a great venue for alfresco drinking and dining.
When it comes to hardware, Grain Store has installed four fixed EPoS touchscreen terminals and also uses four iPad tablet PCs. As the outside space cannot be hard-wired, the iPads are perfect for use here. All eight devices run TISSL EPoS and are consolidated into one integrated system for order processing, accounting and reporting.
Grain Store staff are trained to use the technology well, which makes for smooth and fast customer service. They carry the tablets with them to take orders, which are then sent from waiter stations. “They find the TISSL system very easy to use.”
As for the general benefits of TISSL EPoS, L’Hermitte pays tribute to the business efficiencies it drives. “It does just what it is supposed to do,” he comments.
Philippe L’Hermitte is very satisfied too with system reporting. Not only does TISSL come with its own comprehensive reports but it is now integrated with Avero restaurant business intelligence software. “TISSL and Avero work hand in hand, with Avero dissecting the data collected by TISSL and presenting it to us in director-friendly format, daily, weekly and periodically. It gives us real ease of reporting and is very good.”
