TISSL, the award-winning EPoS supplier, was recently a sponsor of the 2010 PGA Surrey Open. Held at Gatton Manor in Ockley – in the midst of the Surrey Hills – the event was an opportunity for TISSL’s clients, old and new, to enjoy some welcome sunshine and top-class golf.

“We couldn’t have chosen a better three days to spend at the Gatton Manor,” says Kevin Coetzee, managing director of TISSL. “The weather was superb, the venue was stunning and the golf was excellent.”

The event was also an opportunity for TISSL to update guests on what it has to offer, as well as introducing them to the TISSL Triage – a bespoke consultancy service that helps venues to maximise the benefits of EPoS technology in their business.

Gatton Manor, set in 200 acres, is home to the PGA Surrey Open for the next three years and visitors and golfers alike were impressed by the facilities on offer at the Club, as well as the course itself. According to the venue’s owner, Patrick Kiely, it is a course which offers plenty of challenges for pros and yet is enjoyable for not so experienced players.

TISSL entered a team into the Pro-Am competition and enjoyed the experience of playing alongside some top-class players. The Newbury Golf Centre team emerged as the winner of the Pro-Am, while pro Jamie Harris from the Neville Golf Centre established a new Pro-Am course record score of 66, six under-par. He managed an amazing nine birdies.

Around 130 players took part in the PGA Surrey Open over two days and the eventual winner was Andy Raitt with a score of eight under par for the 54-hole tournament.

“We really enjoyed sponsoring such a prestigious golf tournament and meeting clients in such a relaxed and beautiful setting,” added Kevin. “It was also a great opportunity to remind people why our tailored EPoS solutions outperform the competition, in terms of speed, ease of use and reliability.”
